ICS Penetron Receives Their EC Certificate Of Quality System Approval
ICS Penetron, a leader in integral crystalline waterproofing products receives their EC Certificate of Quality System Approval.
East Setauket, NY (PRWEB) March 10, 2006 -- ICS Penetron International Ltd., a leader in integral crystalline waterproofing products, announced that ICS Penetron International received their certificate for European Conformity.
For certain products sold in the European region, it is mandatory to meet all the requirements of the EC Directive. The performance requirements in the European Standard specify definitions and requirements for admixtures for use in concrete. These requisites covers admixtures for plain, reinforced and prestressed concrete used in site mixed, ready mixed concrete and precast concrete. Performance requirements in this standard apply to admixtures used in concrete of normal consistence.
To permit the use of the CE mark for Penetron Admix, a concrete admixture, proof that the item meets all relevant requirements, including the machinery used to produce it, must be documented. For instance, the product must be tested for Chloride Content four times a year according to the EN 480-10 (determination of the water soluble chloride content).
Alkali Content as stated by EN 480-12 (determination of the alkali content of admixture) and Capillary Absorption as per EN 480-5 (determination of capillary absorption) must be tested twice a year. Air Content in Fresh Concrete as per EN12350-7(testing fresh concrete; air content - pressure method) and 28 Day Compressive Strength according to EN12390-3 (testing hardened concrete, compressive strength of test specimens) must be tested once a year. With every batch, the product must also be examined for Homogeneity, Color and Conventional Dry Material Content. The Penetron facility is also inspected as indicated by the production control manual, of which two copies are maintained at the facility and the remaining two copies at the New York Headquarters.
