American Health Insurance - Top Producer for Blue Cross of California 2 Years Running
For the second year running American Health Insurance has advanced to the top of the list for sales of Individual and Family plans.

For the second year running American Health Insurance has advanced to the top of the list for sales of Individual and Family plans. A second award was given for top sales in the specialty area of dental and life.
American Health Insurance was a recipient of an unofficial “Rookie Of The Year” star award by Dave Messing, Blue Cross Regional Sales Manager shortly followed by the seldom given, “Rising Star” award from the underwriting and customer service department.
American Health Insurance began operations in January 2003 out of an extra bedroom of the home of its president, Chuck Mondrus. Mondrus immediately established a strong working relationship with Blue Cross by opting to promote the carrier exclusively. This has given the agency a better understanding of products available as well as the processes needed in working with Blue Cross.
Mr. Mondrus was invited as a key note speaker for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin during last year’s Wellpoint Expo held in Las Vegas.
In August of 2004, the business was relocated to its present suite of offices in Northridge, California where a group of dedicated agents work together in assisting their clients with the application process and continuing on as their single source for customer service. Having mastered the individual and family coverage market, American Health Insurance has now added a Small Group and Senior department. Specialized agents are dedicated to these departments.
Mondrus says the key to his business is relying solely upon leads that are provided through the internet. By offering multiple web portals, potential applicants can find answers to many questions as well as obtain quotes. An online application is also available.
Mondrus meets with other agents on a regular basis to help them organized their offices and streamline their systems. There is also talk about a traveling “Road Show” through out California open to Blue Cross of California agents.
