Top 10 Wireless Cities in Alabama Announced

Survey of the top 10 cities in Alabama according to the number of free Wi-Fi hotspots. The top 3 cities are Mobile, Birmingham, and Montgomery

Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) March 9, 2006 -- MetroFreeFi.com, the world's largest directory of free wireless Internet hotspots, has released a survey of the top 10 cities in Alabama ranked according to the number of free Wi-Fi hotspots. A free Wi-Fi hot spot is a public location that provides locals and visitors wireless Internet at no cost.

The wireless hotspot data was gathered from MetroFreeFi.com's global database, which includes over 10,000 free wireless hotspots and is a collaborative effort by free Wi-Fi users. The company ranked cities by the number of free Wi-Fi hotspots within city limits, taking population density into account.

"Alabama is an increasingly mobile state," said Ryan MacCarthy, Co-Founder of MetroFreeFi.com. "It’s great to see so many businesses in Alabama providing free wireless access. The data clearly shows that Wi-Fi is becoming a necessity for many Alabamians.”
