The “BARPAC” is a monthly open educational community forum created by School Board Trustee Barber to address issues, needs and concerns of everyone living in her district. Mrs. Barber wanted to give the families she represents a candid opportunity to personally meet with her face-to-face on a monthly basis.
The March BARPAC meeting will be held Wednesday, March 15th, commencing at 9:30 a.m. This event will be held at Canyon Springs High School Law and Leadership Preparatory Academy located at 350 E. Alexander Rd., North Las Vegas, NV 89032, (702) 799-1780. At this public community forum, Dr. Dwight McKinney, Co-Founder and CEO of Wealthy Kids’ Financial Network (WKFN), will be present to give a PowerPoint presentation highlighting his organization. Dr. McKinney will be discussing teen financial literacy, the benefits of co-curriculum development, partnership teaching, and why public school districts need to be much more proactive in providing ongoing financial empowerment opportunities for teens (13-18) attending their schools. Additionally, Dr. McKinney will be displaying the current WKFN student and teacher manuals for attendees to preview. Also at this meeting, Superintendent of CCSD, Dr. Walt Rulffes, will be present to give an overview of his plans for CCSD during his term.
