The fast growth experienced by myzoox in its first six weeks since going live have resulted in a lot of kudos, but the site isn’t resting on its laurels and is continuing to give people new reasons to join- now offering $750 of Apple gift-cards. “Most people say to me, ‘Wow, 400 members in 6 weeks you must be ecstatic,’ and the truth is we are very excited that people are finding and using myzoox, but if we are going to change the way the world works we still have a long way to go,” says Aaron Paul, Chief Marketing Officer for myzoox.
Changing the way the world works may be a lofty goal, but myzoox believes it is an attainable one, and the company is putting its money where its mouth is. Myzoox has pledged to donate at least 10% of its revenue, which comes solely from selling advertising space, to the ONE campaign to end extreme world poverty. However, a big key to myzoox becoming the philanthropic force it hopes to be is large numbers of people joining and using the site. As a part of its continuing effort to grow, myzoox has expanded its popular Apple gift-card giveaway program and is now offering a $250 Apple gift-card to the member who does the best job of spreading the word about myzoox.
The $250 gift-card is in addition to the $500 Apple gift-card myzoox was already planning to giveaway in a drawing exclusively for the first 1000 members of the site. “Myzoox is first and foremost a community, and we felt it was only fitting to offer this additional gift for the member who takes the most personal responsibility for the health and development of the community,” said Paul. When new members register with myzoox, they are given an opportunity to say how they heard about the site. New members are encouraged to write the username or name of the member who told them about myzoox. After the 1000th member joins, and the drawing for the $500 Apple gift-card takes place, the member whose name was written in the “how did you hear about us?” field most often will win a $250 Apple gift-card. Paul says the gift-cards are just a small way of saying thank you, but that the big way of saying thank you will be when myzoox is able to “write a very large check to ONE.” If the success experienced by myzoox in their first six weeks is any indicator, they may be writing a very large check indeed, and truth be told, that is exactly what myzoox wants to do.
