Author of children’s book about China announces Special Program for Children’s Groups to support their activities in helping children in North America and other countries learn about China and Chinese culture.

Quebec, Canada (PRWEB) March 14, 2006 -- Author of children’s book about China, “A Musical Journey: From the Great Wall of China to the Water Towns of Jiangnan” announces Special Program for Children’s Groups to support their activities in helping children in North America and other countries learn about China and Chinese culture.

Liow Kah Joon, author of the children’s book about China, “A Musical Journey: From the Great Wall of China to the Water Towns of Jiangnan” announces a Special Program for Children’s Groups to support their activities in helping children in North America and other countries learn about China and Chinese culture.

“If you belong to an association, school or group, no matter how big or small, and your activities include helping children learn about Chinese culture, contact me. I have a Special Program for Children’s Groups to support your activities.”

Since A Musical Journey was launched end 2004, more than 1,000 books have been donated to or used as fundraisers by children’s charities and hospitals, Chinese cultural centers and Families with adopted Chinese children groups in the United States, Canada, Australia and Ireland.

“A Musical Journey: From the Great Wall of China to the Water Towns of Jiangnan” by Liow Kah Joon takes children and on an adventure across 12 regions of China. This English language children’s book allows readers to understand China’s diverse land, people and way of life from ancient times to today. It brings together interesting facts, vibrant illustrations and refreshing music for a fun and educational experience.

Nanci Carlson of Families with adopted Chinese Children (FCC) in Arizona, USA, who has used A Musical Journey in their enrichment programs said:

“The All About China program has gone well and has regenerated interest in belonging to FCC in families with older kids who thought our activities were geared toward little kids. We also have a monthly Friendship Club for kids 6 & over and a newsletter for kids.”

Nena Constant, Elementary School Teacher at College Prep International, Québec, Canada said:

"I have experienced great enthusiasm from my students when doing my lessons with A Musical Journey. I found every page of this book easy to turn into a lesson. There is text, there is music - everything a teacher needs. The students have visual support, something to read to keep them focused and the music to listen to, to enjoy. This book brings together the imagination and the sensibility of the child."

As to why he decided to write A Musical Journey, Kah Joon said:

“Many Chinese children in North America and other Western countries grow up knowing little about their cultural heritage. Their parents are faced with the difficult challenge of passing on Chinese culture to them in a non-Chinese environment.

At the same time, there are few children’s books available to teachers that give a simple and interesting overview of China’s history, land and people they can use in class.

That’s why I wrote A Musical Journey.”
