Learn.com Competitor to Give Up on Its Current LMS Technology because of Poor Development and Planning

A Learn.com competitor continues to market and sell its “ColdFusion” based LMS to the e-learning industry despite plans to retire the system in just weeks. Learn.com invites customers of that competitor who are disgusted, and put at risk by this approach and perceived lack of long-term planning, to inquire about the new Learn.com Conversion Allowance Program (CAP). In fact, this Learn.com competitor just lost it’s top “Reference Customer” as reported in the Bersin & Associates LMS 2006: Facts, Analysis, Trends and Vendor Profiles published just this January, more than likely due to the perceived lack of long-term planning, and apprehension to be among the very first to utilize the newly developed system. In addition, that competitor is charging their existing clients to “pack their bags and move” from the platform they just sold them months ago to the new un-market tested platform. Their customers will see greater value in becoming a Learn.com client and switching to the safe, proven, and trusted LearnCenter platform, And most importantly, Learn.com even absorbs the cost for that conversion during this CAP period. Learn.com has already successfully converted 22 clients from competitor LMSs.

Learn.com®, the leader in creating and projecting power-on-demand e-learning, today announced a Conversion Allowance Program (CAP) for the clients of a Learn.com competitor who were asked to “pack their bags” after a five year run on their now obsolete LMS technology.

“Clients should not be the ones who suffer for a vendor’s lack of vision, failure to plan and utter disregard for the development of flexible architecture. Our LearnCenter was architected correctly the first time, and our clients have, and will continue to settle-in on our current flexible technology. Our clients will never need to worry about the LearnCenter LMS/LCMS being unsupported or obsolete. Moreover, our LearnCenter users will never have to “pack their bags” and move to a new solution. We want the entire industry to know what our over 250 LMS/LCMS clients (running the most current version of LearnCenter) have known since 1998, that Learn.com’s architecture was well thought out and architected from its inception and that it was built to last,” said JW Ray, Chief Operating Office at Learn.com.

“It is very costly for a client to switch its LMS, and changing platforms from the same vendor can be much more costly than it appears. The cost is not only in product license fees, but also in data migration, IT staff, integrations, implementation, training staff on the new software, and possible lost functionality using a 1.0 feature set. By offering a CAP, Learn.com gets you to, and keeps you at the latest feature set without the hidden costs,” said Ted Schneider, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Learn.com. “We urge you to ask for an LMS roadmap, and be sure your software dollars are optimized with a product that has a strong future and clear vision. You deserve enhancements that will allow your organization to grow beyond your original implementation. That’s why Learn.com boasts a 98% renewal rate.”

According to the Bersin & Associates Learning Management 2006: Industry study, Vendor Profiles, and Benchmarks report, “Learn.com, Inc. provides one of the most complete and customizable solutions on the market. The company provides content development tools, assessment tools, content and a fully featured LMS that can be hosted externally or behind the firewall. The product provides a great deal of configurability options with an easy to use interface.
