Century Old Manufacturer Participates in History to Go Program

Guyot Brothers continues participation in the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum's History to Go Program.

Attleboro, Massachusetts (PRWEB) March 15, 2006 -- Recently developed by George Shelton of the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum in response to cutbacks of field trips in the Attleboro, Massachusetts public schools, the History to Go Program was an immediate success.

During the course of the school year, Mr. Shelton, Curator of the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum, visits each of the city's third grade glasses with a selection from the museum's extensive collection and makes and in-classroom presentation of Attleboro's dynamic history. He also covers the advent of jewelry manufacturing in Attleboro and America as well as the city's rise to its one time being the "Jewelry Capital of the World".

Approximately 700 Attleboro public school students have benefited from this creative educational program, begun in 2005. One of the highlights for the students is a hands-on school project where they make their own keyring as a take home gift. Components for the keyrings are supplied mainly with donations made by Attleboro companies. Guyot Brothers, established in 1904 as manufacturers of decorative jewelry findings, is pleased to have supplied some of the ornamental stampings for this exciting and innovative program. According to Mr. Shelton, frogs and heart motifs were the most popular among the students for making their keyring. The Attleboro Area Industrial Museum is located at 42 Union Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Their web address is www.industrialmuseum.com

Located in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the Birthplace of the Jewelry Industry in America, Guyot Brothers continues to produce their high-quality line of stamped filigree, charms, floral, and other decorative stampings. For viewing the line in person, they are represented in New York, New Jersey, California, Arizona, New Mexico, England, and France. The company also maintains a showroom at their factory in Attleboro.
