The wonderful world of acclaimed Israeli artist and designer, Iris Dishon, is finally available on eBay. Selected pieces of Dishon’s hand-painted ‘Signature’ furniture collection are now on-sale at the DreamShoppe store.
Each unique piece has been slowly hand painted with much love and care, forming an item that serves to bring added warmth and beauty to its surroundings.
There has always been a connection between the world of Art and design. Marketers have often commissioned artists to design a line of products on their behalf.
“But with Dishon, the Art is an integral part of the design. She creates artwork for furniture, literally turning furniture into Art”, says John Pruzanski, Manager of DreamShoppe.
But these works are not just to be seen … but also to be touched, used and enjoyed. The painting is done with specially formulated textile paints, resulting in a washable fabric that is soft and pleasant to the touch.
Three pieces are currently available at DreamShoppe.
A traditional armchair with wooden engraved armrests, which Dishon has emblazed with the emblem of love … The Armchair Rose
A rectangular footstool where Dishon has delivered a fading floral frame … Floral Frame Footstool
And, a classic ‘Danish-Design’ style armchair that ‘brings-to-the-table’ a shelf of delectable morsels for the mind …
These pieces are prime examples of Dishon’s work and would stand proudly in any home.
More About Iris Dishon Design Studio
Iris Dishon is a renowned Israeli designer and a graduate of Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy. She brings her love of nature's bounty and grace to each creation which leaves her studio.
The structure of her painting is an essential part of it.
“The eye completes the sequence and so makes the observation more active”, expresses Dishon on her attitude towards her work.
“Not casual drawings, but design in drawing”, as she puts it.
The sense of continuity is created by the spots of color, which move on to the next drawing, or, alternatively, by a subject sequence.
In addition to the fact we relate to each drawing as a self defined painting, the combination of a few drawings as a series creates another, larger painting, with a designed richness. This provides the observer with a unique aesthetic experience.
Dishon conceives her work as being a part of an overall designing concept. In her paintings she does not tell a story, she portrays visions and shapes of powerful visual presence, visions that make a difference in the space they are in, and make it interesting.
It’s just not furniture anymore.

More on DreamShoppe
This boutique virtual store on eBay was opened last January by the proprietors of DropShop.co.il. In that time it has put on offer and sold on eBay a variety of special works including an original Tiffany 18 light Lily lamp, Meissen porcelain, Artworks …and even an exquisitely adorned copper and silver Islamic table that was offered for just under $20,000.
According to John Pruzanski, manager of DreamShoppe, “many people think eBay is just about ‘yard sales’ and second-hand junk … but it has evolved into much more than that.”
“I liken eBay to a multistoried Mall … In the basement and on the ground floor, people set up their stands and sell their homely goods. Cars are sold in the car park as are factory goods”.
“The next couple of stories incorporate various retail outlets selling all manner of new and used goods. Above them are the designer department stores selling their wares. Then finally there’s a ‘top-floor’ selling ‘top-shelf’ products.
“DreamShoppe is all about premium arts, crafts and jewelry ...antique, classic and contemporary. Everything to nourish your heart or soul.”
