Southern Cal's Latest Theatrical Hit "Grandpa's Truth" Picked Up By CDT Productions and Extended Through Sunday, April 23, 2006
Hit play currently running at the Inglewood Playhouse has been extended through, Sunday, April 23, 2006. The contemporary play uses two black families to focus on the polarizing state of race relations between blacks and Hispanics in Los Angeles. One of the families has adopted two Hispanic sons, and that has caused turmoil with their next door neighbors.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 20, 2006 -- “Grandpa’s Truth” the hit stage play written by Alretha Thomas and directed by Byron Nora, has been picked up by CDT Productions with executive producer Travis L. Williams and extended through Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Inglewood Playhouse. “After seeing “Grandpa’s Truth” I decided I had to do anything I could to facilitate the growth and viability of the production as executive producer,” says Williams. The Inglewood Playhouse is located in Edward Vincent Park at 740 Warren Lane in Inglewood (one block North of Florence Avenue and one block east of Centinela Avenue).

“This is a powerful play all of Los Angeles—and America needs to see. We all need to learn how to be better and more respectful neighbors,” says community activist Mollie Bell. “Grandpa’s Truth touched my heart and made me cry.” Legendary singer Freda Payne saw the show and called it “Truly powerful.” The show has performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The media has discovered “Grandpa’s Truth” and on Sunday, March 12 Adai pronounced A-day) Lamar from KJLH FM’s “Cliff Winston & the Home Team” hosted the play. On Tuesday, March 14 at 8:45 a.m. members of “Grandpa’s Truth,” cast appeared live on “Cliff Winston & the Home Team” (found on KJLH FM at 102.3.
