First Female World Series of Poker Main Event Package Winner

Poker.com is sending its first first female representative to play in the World Series of Poker Main Event. Afer entering a $1 Poker.com satellite MsRounders has won her way through several tournaments at Poker.com, and now has her place booked in the $10,000 buy in WSOP Main Event.

(PRWEB) March 16, 2006 -- Four months to the day after joining Poker.com, the home of online poker, Sheila Chandler (32), known as 'MsRounders', a pharmacy manager from Jacksonville Florida has made Poker.com World Series of Poker history, as the first woman to win her way to the Main Event.

"We have a growing base of female players at Poker.com. Just as we've seen in live tournaments across the globe, more and more women are getting involved and making a difference." Paul Cherry, Poker.com Tournament Director.

After playing poker mostly on trips to Vegas for the last 6 years, 'MsRounders' took up online poker a couple of years ago, mostly playing low buy in tournament games. She joins a growing number of women taking a greater interest in tournament poker.

"Sheila may be the first woman we are sending, but she will not be the last. We are also sending several women to the special WSOP Ladies tournament. We have received nothing but praise and support from our 'Girl's Club' who already play countless ladies only events on Poker.com" Paul Cherry, Poker.com Tournament Director.

Not only has MsRounders won the opportunity to rub shoulders with the world's best players, but she has managed to achieve this chance of a lifetime for the total cost of $1. After winning a $1 qualifier to get into the quarterfinals, MsRounders showed a clean set of heels, placing second in the quarter and semi finals before winning her grand final.

"For just $1, Sheila has won a package worth $12,500 and now has a shot at a prize pool of around $80 million." Paul Cherry, Poker.com Tournament Director.

Sheila told us "I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to play in the WSOP and represent Poker.com. This is a moment that I have only dreamed about and never thought would happen."

On behalf of everyone at Poker.com congratulations MsRounders on winning a WSOP package and good luck in Las Vegas.

Poker.com, the home of online poker, gives everyone an opportunity to win a $12,500 WSOP package. Poker.com buy-in tournaments range from $1 for beginners to $500 for high stakes professionals.
