The Author of "Duped By Love" to Appear at the Shrine of the Black Madonna Bookstore

(http://www.dupedbylove.com) The author of DUPED BY LOVE, the hilariously funny novel about dating in Atlanta, is set to appear at the famed Shrine of the Black Madonna bookstore in Atlanta, Georgia to promote the book some have called “one of the funniest ever written on the subject of dating.”

DUPED BY LOVE chronicles the shaky love life of Shelby Stewart, a single mother and divorcee, who lives and works in the ‘city too busy to hate.’ The story follows her as she tries every dating trick in the book to find love, with richly comic results.

According to a recent study done by the research firm Sperling’s BestPlaces, Atlanta is the seventh worst city in the nation for dating. At a time when even the rich and successful are being duped (Jennifer Anniston, Terry McMillan), that distinction is pretty bad news for the scores of single available women in the city that frequent night spots, sign up for dating services, and scour the Internet looking to find love. DUPED BY LOVE pokes fun at the antics of the thirty-something heroine as she tries with varied success to find her “Mr. He’ll-Do-In-A-Pinch.”

Ms. Wilson-Smith got the idea for the book after a particularly bad experience with a man she met online. Though she admits that writing DUPED BY LOVE was a liberating experience, she says that actually being duped was anything but, and offers practical advice for singles looking for love: “Date Responsibly.”

Ms. Wilson-Smith is heavily promoting the book in Atlanta, the city that both the book’s main character and Wilson-Smith call home. Scheduled appearances on local radio, television, and a variety of print interviews, including features in Rolling Out Magazine, The Single Spot Magazine, and The Piedmont Review kick off the national promotion of the popular book. Wilson-Smith has already appeared on V-103’s “Love and Relationships” show with Joyce Littel, and is a regular contributor to the “Question Is” talk show on WAEC, Love860 in Atlanta, Georgia.
