Bucharest, Romania (PRWEB) March 18, 2006 -- This year, in Romania, Easter can last more than a week. In the legendary realm of Moldavia one can experience two Easter feasts in just 9 days, starting with Holly Friday. Cultural Romtour gives people the opportunity to take part in a Romanian, traditional, spiritual, orthodox Easter as well as have the unique experience of the genuine gypsy flavor, music and celebrations occasioned by this community’s ‘Green Thursday’ Easter -- a centuries old event.
Moldavia is one of the last regions in Romania that cradles the remaining of a fascinating civilization- the original gipsy community -- in the small village of Cozmesti, about 60 km away from the city of Iasi and is also the deeply spiritual landmark.
This timeless place fosters, in harmony, both the Romanian and the gypsy cultures. Nowadays the gipsy people are farmers, but most interestingly they keep to their worldwide appreciated music heritage, and still play as a band on centuries old instruments passed down from generation to generation. That is why theirs is an important role in all village life, be it celebration or mourning.
This is a journey that will take those who chose to embark on it to the secluded legendary monasteries in Moldavia and Bucovina for Easter mass and traditional Easter meals.
The peak of the event is the unique gipsy Easter that takes place in Cozmesti, locally known as ‘Green Thursday’ -- as the gypsies work as musicians on Easter (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) they celebrate their own Easter on the first Thursday after the Romanian Easter in accordance to Christian Orthodox religion.
This is a rare opportunity to set aside prejudice and celebrate alongside the locals, to enjoy typical gypsy cooking and Romanian wine tasting, accompanied by the gypsy award winning band music.
This 9 days tour allows access to unique, virtually untouched places such as Gura Humorului and never before seen rituals and celebrations, at four star standards of accommodation and transportation.
About Cultural Romtour
We are a professional travel company, our personnel has more than 15 years experience, and we are trying to introduce a new meaning in the concept of Romanian tourism.
Unlike the self-called established travel companies we focus our interest on the person (or group) who intends to visit Romania, customizing the tours to the specific request of the tourist.
In our office (on our site) you may find general information about Romania, or specific sites that we have thoroughly researched and made available to you.
One is dedicated to the "standard tourism" organized for groups larger than 14 persons who come to Romania for a "typical " trip -- tour (monasteries, old cities, Dracula tour, Transilvanya Tour, Romania tour etc.).
The other tour option we offer is the customized tour which can be organized for a small or a large group considering common hobbies or interests (mountain bike, fishing, hiking, old steam locos...) or even an unforgettable honeymoon. This type of tour is organized to fulfill all the expectations of private persons who want to visit our beautiful mountains, the Danube Delta or historical places. Also in this department we can organize hunting and bird watching trips (in Danube Delta) or any other interesting trips (such as pilgrimages to the monasteries for example). For this tours we can organize rustic accommodations in private houses in the mountains, at the seaside or in Danube Delta, creating the opportunity to experience on your own Romanian life and traditions.
