Far Point - a Techno-Thriller by David Lindsley With Print-On-Demand Availability From Lulu.com
Professional Engineer David Lindsley opens the doors on a hidden world of tensions, excitements and romances. His book Far Point has been published in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com), the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books.
Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, UK (PRWEB) March 18, 2006 -- David Lindsley's exciting new book, "Far Point", explores a profession that affects us all, and which underpins every aspect of modern society. Little understood by the world that it supports, the business of designing, building and operating power stations is marked by tension and occasional danger.
David Lindsley started to write Far Point while working on a major construction project in Hong Kong. As a result the book is touched with the immediacy of close personal involvement. The author came to Lulu because he wanted to be in control of the publishing process and found Lulu’s print-on-demand tools to be fast, easy and, most importantly, free.
“Independent publishing and print-on-demand is the wave of the future, and the future is now,” says David Lindsley. “The Lulu process allowed me to cut out the middle man (i.e. a separate publisher) and get my work out there the way I wanted it.”
ABOUT AUTHOR
David Lindsley is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers in London. He has worked with power stations around the world, and his two reference books are to be found on the bookshelves of many power-station engineers. Far Point is his first work of fiction. It is loosely based on characters and incidents that he has encountered during his working life. The central technical proposition of the book is a simplification of an incident that actually occurred, although it is considerably extrapolated in the story.
