Troisdorf, Germany (PRWEB) March 18, 2006
A one-of-a-kind pan-European championship, the Everest Poker European Championship consists of live freeroll satellites throughout Europe and online satellites at EverestPoker.com, all leading up to the final event with a 50,000€ prize pool.
The German leg of the tour is being hosted by the German Poker Players Association. Other live satellite tournaments will be held in France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, Denmark and Italy. All qualifiers for the final event will have the 500€ buy-in paid for, and each qualifier will also receive 400€ for travel expenses.
"The response to our Troisdorf tournament was overwhelming," said Karin Schmidt, Everest Poker's German Marketing Manager. "We had to close pre-registration because so many players wanted to get in. It ended up being the largest poker tournament ever outside of a casino in Germany."
Added Ms. Schmidt, "With so much buzz and anticipation building up around the Everest Poker European Championship, we are really looking forward to our upcoming satellites in Hamburg, Landau and Nuremburg."
