Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) March 19, 2006
Cleveland’s undisputed Mecca of underground comedy, the Bassa Vita Lounge is going big-time with “Colossal” -- a benefit show marking the beginning of a new chapter in Cleveland stand-up comedy.
This 2-night comedypalooza will feature 19 of the funniest, edgiest, and most promising Cleveland-area comedians who have been slaying audiences at Bassa Vita and many other venues for the past few years. “Colossal” will bring them together on the Bassa Vita stage as a show of comedy force and to raise funds for a venue that is ready to explode on the scene with more visibility, club improvements, VIP programs, and guest promotions.
The Bassa Vita Lounge has established itself over the past few years as an emerging force in local comedy, blending local talent with national touring comedians into a hilariously toxic brew. With its weekly “Grimey Ninety” stand-up and “Tuesdays at Nine” improv shows, monthly “Detention” sketch comedy, the infamous “So You Think You’re Funny” contest series, and special events produced by Cleveland Yucks, Hearts of Darkness and A-One Productions -- Bassa Vita has proven it knows comedy and is ready to take its game to another level.
“Colossal” will feature two completely different lineups each night of up-and-coming local comedians, pre-party festivities, auctions, food and drink specials and loads of laughs.
Tickets are $10 for each night or $18 for passes to both nights. Tickets are sold at the door but can be reserved in advance by calling the club. Events begin at 8PM and include a pre-party and comedy memorabilia auction, show starts at 9PM. 21 and older, proper dress required. For more information or to reserve tickets, call the Bassa Vita Lounge at (216) 521-4386.
“Colossal” will feature raw, explicit comedy that is sure to offend and delight every audience member. Prepare yourself accordingly and be there on March 31st and April 1st.
