Midwest ATC Services to Receive PAR Simulator

Adacel, an industry leader in software integration, simulation development, and speech recognition technology, announced today it has secured a new contract with Midwest ATC Services to provide a dual-seat Precision Approach Radar (PAR) simulation training system.

The contract involves the delivery and installation of a PAR simulator with Adacel’s Speech Recognition (SR) technology. The training system supports two working positions, the Approach Control and Precision Approach Radar and includes a Communications System supporting both working positions.

This new system will assist Midwest ATC Services in training air traffic controllers in PAR procedures by providing a realistic simulation environment. The contract also allows the flexibility to upgrade and expand its capabilities as future requirements evolve.

“This is another milestone for Adacel,” stated Fred Sheldon, Adacel CEO for North America. “Our PAR simulator will facilitate the training of controllers who must operate at air fields that do not have the latest state-of- the-art air traffic control systems installed. Through the use of this realistic PAR simulator, controllers will be well trained, prior to deployment, on the proper procedures for guiding pilots through PAR landings, greatly enhancing the safety of flight operations.”
