The PetWork recently launched a redesigned web site that will be easier than ever for site visitors to use. The PetWork, which covers the entire United States, features listings for animal shelters, humane societies, rescue groups, veterinarians, animal hospitals, and other organizations dedicated to pets, farm animals, birds, and wildlife.

The PetWork also includes listings for businesses that sell pet products, including toys, treats, all-natural products, leashes, and collars; and businesses that offer pet-related services, including training services, pet portraits, and pet sitting. New listings are added daily. Listings are searchable by keyword, such as type of animal, breed, city, or state. SIte visitors may also browse listings by category or by month.

Unlike search engines and other online resources, The PetWork is advertising free. Site visitors won't be bombarded with advertising or annoying animations, and they won't need to wade through a lot of unrelated information to find what they need.

The PetWork's founders, Tom Nelson and Mary O'Connor, hope that The PetWork will serve as more than just a directory, a way to find a specific resource, product, or service. They hope that site visitors will also spend time browsing the listings, and discover organizations, services, or products that they didn't know about, such as Golden Hearts Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization in California that provides a permanent, loving home for elderly or disabled dogs, cats, and farm animals; the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society, which provides pets to senior citizens through a program sponsored by Ralston Purina; or The K-9 Cart, the only pet wheelchair designed and tested by a veterinary orthopedic surgeon. By bringing some of the thousands of dedicated animal organizations and pet-focused businesses to light, The PetWork hopes to inspire people to donate time or funds to help animals in need, provide a forever home for a deserving pet, or give an injured or disabled animal a new lease on life.

About The PetWork: The PetWork is a national network of pet resources, pet-related web sites, and information about pets, for the people who love them. The PetWork also includes information about and resources for farm animals, birds, and wildlife.
