Tri Swim Coach Partners with Finis, Inc. to Help Triathletes Swim Faster and Have More Fun

More help is on the way for beginning and intermediate-level triathletes. Finis and Tri Swim Coach combine forces to take much of the difficulty out of swimming.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 26, 2006 -- Tri Swim Coach, a leading triathlon resource site and creator of the book The Complete Guide to Triathlon Swimming, has partnered with Finis, Inc. to offer their advanced training equipment for triathletes. Finis provides equipment for swimmers of all abilities to improve their technique and add to their enjoyment of being in the water. Tri Swim Coach incorporates Finis products into its coaching methodology and will offer the products as a component of its “Complete Guide to Triathlon Swimming” program.

“Finis products help me to be a better coach and allow me to offer a more comprehensive training program,” says Kevin Koskella, owner of Tri Swim Coach. “Although swim teams everywhere are using these products with great success, very few triathletes have utilized this equipment, and I plan to change that.”

“Finis is really happy to be working with Kevin Koskella and Tri Swim Coach,” says Tim Elson, Coach Consultant with Finis, Inc. “We recognize that Kevin’s background in swimming and his growing influence in the triathlon market is an optimum combination for our products.”

Finis offers a wide range of equipment for swimmers of all levels, and Tri Swim Coach has chosen 3 products that fit particularly well with its philosophy. Owner Kevin Koskella outlines the reasons for choosing each product:

1. The Finis Freestyler Hand Paddle- “This paddle was specifically designed to improve technique and efficiency for freestyle, the preferred stroke for triathlon. It forces streamlined hand entry and forward planning to increase stroke length- a key to my philosophy as a coach. It also does not put stress on shoulders, like many other paddles do. An elongated stroke maximizes rotation (another key to the Tri Swim Coach philosophy), and power. I love the paddle and wish I would have found it sooner! It makes teaching easier by forcing the swimmer to use proper technique.”

2. Zoomers Z2 Fins- “Fins are an essential part of improving freestyle technique and the Z2 is the best one I've found. Like the original Zoomers fins, they force you to kick the proper way and increase ankle flexibility- a common problem among triathletes. The fins are a great teaching aid: they allow the swimmer to do the required drills properly without having to exhaust themselves kicking hard to stay on the surface of the water. They also have a secondary benefit of working the muscles in a way that results in a faster kick.”

3. Tempo Trainer- “This device helps with a swimmers ability to train at an optimum and consistent pace by allowing the coach and swimmer to determine an optimal stroke rate. This has given me the ability to know exactly what kind of workouts a triathlete should be doing by using the formula Distance per Cycle x Cycle Rate = Pace Time. This takes out the guess work in coaching.”

Finis equipment will be available from Tri Swim Coach via its website at www.triswimcoach.com. For more information about Finis, visit www.finisinc.com.
