This marks the first time a $1 million home has been raffled in the Conejo Valley. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the non-profit Conejo Jewish Day School (CJDS). In the best interest of the children of the day school, the final drawing for the raffle has been postponed until May 14, 2006 giving the kids a chance to sell more tickets, and last minute supporters the opportunity to purchase additional tickets. Tickets for the raffle are priced at $150 a piece and are available at http://www.winahomenow.com. A maximum of 18,000 tickets will be sold, providing purchasers with great odds for winning. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-866-946-1466 or from the website at http://www.winahomenow.com.

The 2,500 square foot, two-story home is completely remodeled and comes with five bedrooms and three baths. Upgrades include a new kitchen with granite counter tops, state-of-the-art appliances and a custom walk-in pantry; new custom ceramic tile and designer quality carpet throughout the house, all new double-glazed windows and an over-sized walk-in closet and whirlpool tub in the master suite. The home features a beautifully landscaped entertainer's backyard with pool. Located in one of the most scenic areas in California, Oak Park is conveniently located to shopping, schools and cultural enrichment.

The home is just one of 180 prizes to be given away. Other cash prizes include $50,000, $25,000 or $10,000, seven cash prizes of $1,000 each, 10 cash prizes of $500 each and 160 cash prizes of $300 each. Reed Torkay of Moorpark, won $30,000 in an early bird drawing. Forty other lucky Conejo Jewish Day School supporters won as much as $1,000 each, all benefiting the children of the Conejo Jewish Day School.

The school is currently operating in leased facilities. It hopes to use funds from the raffle to acquire a permanent site to build its own school. "Our school draws students from as far away as North Hollywood and Tarzana to the east and from Ventura to the west so there is a real need," says Leora Langberg, CJDS board president.

Almost 70 students are enrolled in CJDS, now in its fifth year. "Every student is special. We give our students an education for life while they learn values and ideas that are applicable right now. Our goal is to develop students into well-educated, well-balanced and productive members of the community."

The May 14 grand prize drawing will be held at the Canyon Club (28912 Roadside Dr., Agoura Hills). The winner need not be present. Tickets can be purchased by calling 866-WIN-1-HOME (866-946-1466).
