Contest for Nonprofit Leaders Offers $20,000 Office Renovation as Prize in Albuquerque Market
As part of its 2006 Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy contest, Goodmans Interior Structures is awarding a $20,000 office remodel to a nonprofit leader in the Albuquerque market.
ALBUQUERQUE (PRWEB) March 24, 2006 -- Albuquerque’s inaugural Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy contest, which will award a local nonprofit leader with a $20,000 complete office remodel, begins March 3 with a call for online nominations. The nomination form found at www.GoodmansGoodGuy.com provides nonprofit boards of directors and other stakeholders the opportunity to extol the achievements of their top leader for a chance to win a workspace that helps them retain their valued executive.
The winning “Good Guy” will receive a remodeled workspace that supports individual work style, improves productivity and communicates organizational mission. The program is presented in Albuquerque by Goodmans Interior Structures and New Mexico Business Weekly.
“One of the benefits of creating a great work environment is its effect on retaining highly valued workers,” said Thomas Perkins, general manager of Goodmans Interior Structures. “This is an opportunity for an organization to reward its leader and also create a unique employment benefit that can help the nonprofit retain that leader.”
Nominations for executive directors, presidents and CEOs of nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Bernalillo County will be accepted online March 3 – April 3. Finalists will be selected based on the nominee’s application of good business principles, demonstration of excellence in leadership, organizational influence on the community/populations served, and need for a more efficient workspace.
In May, 10 finalists will be announced and the public will have an opportunity to vote online for their favorite “good guy.” The results of the public vote will be combined with scores from a panel of local judges to decide the winner. The winning “good guy,” along with his/her office, will be highlighted in a fall issue of New Mexico Business Weekly.
“Today’s successful non-profit organizations must function a lot like for-profit businesses,” said Sherri Wells, publisher of New Mexico Business Weekly. “We always are looking for ways to give them the information and exposure needed to do that.”
Albuquerque’s “Good Guy” will have his or her office space redesigned by the Southwest Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to include new office furniture and other appropriate interior construction products. Construction will be provided by Hart Construction and Dimension Flooring Services will provide flooring. The three contributing organizations are also program sponsors.
The Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy program was first launched by Goodmans in Phoenix last year. In the inaugural program, more than 360 nominations were received and more than 31,000 votes were cast in the program that awarded Ron Adelson, CEO of Aid to Adoption of Special Kids, with the $20,000 office remodel. Due to this significant response, Goodmans is this year expanding the program in Albuquerque and Tucson.
The Goodmans Eye for the Good Guy program represents the company’s core mission of promoting good design in the business community. A long-time supporter of local charitable organizations, Goodmans has encouraged nonprofits to also embrace quality design in their operations.
