(PRWEB) March 24, 2006 -- Walnut Circle Grill, located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi's historic downtown area, will host its First Annual Wine Festival on Sunday, March 26 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Twenty select wines will be available for sampling from France, Australia, California, Italy, New Zealand, Austria, South America, South Africa and beyond. Executive Chef and General Manager, Hoyt Tanner said that complimenting hors d'ouevres or desserts will be served with each wine.
Four wine experts, all Certified Sommeliers, will be on hand to provide information on each of the wines presented and to answer questions about each wine. “One of the criteria we had when choosing the wines is that they would be available at our local liquor stores. Of the wines we will serve that day, all but three are currently available locally,” Tanner added.
Entertainment will be provided by Steve Reynolds.
Walnut Circle Grill’s Wine Festival will kick off a series of bi-monthly wine flights that will feature international wines paired through several dinner courses. “We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce our customers to new wines and to aid them in their selection process,” Tanner said.
Owner Mike McElroy said that Walnut Circle Grill has done wine pairings over six or seven courses of dinner in the past, as well as joint efforts with other restaurants, but the upcoming event will be the first official wine event the restaurant has done.
Tickets for the event are $60 per person and may be purchased by calling 601-544-2202 or online at www.walnutcirclegrill.com.
