(PRWEB) March 24, 2006 -- Ever wonder where and how the dancers from the NBA, NFL, AFL, NHL, and other pro and semi-pro sports dance teams do their pre-season training? You have to look no further than ProDance. Rosalyn Jones, founder/CEO shares the secrets to the success of ProDance.

ProDance 2006 will take place July 30-August 2 at LaQuinta Resort & Club and the buzz has already begun. Hundreds of professional sports cheerleaders and dancers representing teams like the Orlando Magic, Minnesota Vikings, Scottish Rockettes, Washington Redskins, Detroit Pistons Automotion and many more are expected to attend ProDance 2006. An awesome mix of trend-setting choreography will be a part of the ProDance experience. Some of the choreographers slated to appear are Kimberley Baum, John Peters, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, Marina and Mina Ortega, Shane Sparks, Barry Youngblood, Shawnette Heard, and notable others.

Based on its expanding popularity and increasing attendance rates, ProDance has become the industry leader for professional sports dancers from the NBA, NFL, CFL, NFL Europe, AFL, NHL and other professional sports teams worldwide! We decided to sit down with
Rosalyn Jones, Founder and CEO of ProDance, to find out more about ProDance.

Q: Rosalyn, You started ProDance in 2000 with only 40 pro-sports dancers, 10 choreographers and your drive to provide the pro sports market something that it was missing. How do you feel now as you prepare for the 7th annual ProDance and hundreds of dancers are expected to attend?

RJ: I sincerely appreciate the interest in ProDance. It is the most remarkable dance camp, in my opinion, on the planet! I just want to encourage teams to do everything possible to attend this year.

Q. For someone who has never attended ProDance, how do you explain what ProDance is?

RJ: I can't begin to explain the ProDance experience. "Some experiences simply do not translate. You have to go to know." This statement rings so true with ProDance. Just imagine hundreds of professional sports cheerleaders and dancers from the NBA, NFL, AFL, NHL, CFL, and MLB, semi-pro, some collegiate, etc., dancing, learning, sharing, and having an extraordinary time! It's a very eclectic mix of people who are very passionate about dance. Everyone who attends yearns for more! More knowledge, more choreography, more networking possibilities, more information, more FUN. The passion and camaraderie at this conference is AMAZING. There is electricity in the air. There is joy on the faces of EVERYONE. I don't even want to begin to describe the choreographers and choreography. You've may have seen it on the much-coveted ProDance DVD but to get up close and personal to it...to feel the power of it...to watch dancers really pushing their limits...IT'S AWESOME…TOTALLY INSPIRING.

Q. How would you recommend teams attend ProDance? I mean how many people should come from a particular team to gain the best experience?

RJ: The Most Advantageous way to come to ProDance is to bring at least 10 members of your team. You should put one dancer in each choreographer’s class. Once you begin your rehearsal at home, you have someone who has the routine down pat.

Q. What about the costs, how do teams handle the expense of sending so many dancers to ProDance?

RJ: Some teams who attend are fortunate enough to have their franchises provide the funds for their trip to ProDance. I can tell you, however, that a great majority of teams who attend ProDance do not have this luxury. They get very creative in gathering the funds that are necessary to get to ProDance. They have 4 or more people stay in a room to share expenses. They drive. They take buses. They do fundraisers, etc. It's astounding and humbling to know what people have done to get to ProDance.

Q. It seems like teams do what ever it takes to get to ProDance. Why do you think that's so?

RJ: I mean, when you think about it, having access to ten of the most sought after choreographers in the dance industry...well...as the commercial says...it's priceless. I choreographed and directed the San Antonio Spurs dance team for many years. I could only dream of having Tina Landon, Brian Friedman, John Peters, Cris Judd, Eddie Garcia, etc. come to one of my practices to teach some routines. But, at ProDance, you get all of the benefit of the creativity of these exceptional choreographers and you have the DVD to refer to throughout the year. Just imagine how much time that saves you as a choreographer to not have to create material throughout the year! I cannot tell you what a valuable tool the DVD is... And the only way to get it is to come to ProDance.

Q. Is there anything more you can say to the team director who has never been to ProDance?

RJ: Once you come, you'll understand all the things I'm trying to express. "What one has not experienced, one can never understand in print." Besides the dancing, there is so much more to enjoy at ProDance. I'm not going to tell you all the other surprises that happen at this event! I just want you to come and be delighted!

Rosalyn Jones, I want to thank you for your time. I know that you will have great success with ProDance 2006 and beyond.
