Tribeca Events, a new full-service special events organization located in downtown New York City, recently helped the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families raise $350,000 for Latin children.

Among the plethora of event management companies in the New York area, a new brand is emerging with a distinctive style and impressive capabilities. It is called Tribeca Events and it is not business as usual.

Specializing in producing events ranging from upscale private parties to elaborate staged affairs, Tribeca Events provides full-service event planning and management services across all disciplines. It deviates from traditional event production organizations by operating from a core premise that hospitality is the foundation of every event. It puts the guest first in the equation and then builds everything around that experience.

The name Tribeca Events stands as much for the company’s personality as it does its location. “Tribeca represents a confluence of cultures, art, society, cuisine and business,” said Karen DiPeri, President and Co-founder of Tribeca Events. “It is quintessential New York. We capture this eclectic mix in everything we do.”

On March 9, Tribeca Events partnered with the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, Inc. (CHCF) for the Sixth Annual "A Slice of Latin America" Gala event at New York City’s Grand Hyatt Hotel. The benefit event honoring Omar Minaya, General Manager of the New York Mets and Bruce Mosler, President and CEO of Cushman & Wakefield, featured New York City's most celebrated chefs presenting their own Latin-inspired masterpieces.

WCBS TV news anchor Mario Bosquez and WNBC reporter Monica Morales presided over the ceremonies which also featured live and silent auctions and raised approximately $350,000 overall to help CHCF fulfill its mission of creating and providing vital programs for Latino children and families.

“The event was colorful and full of life – Latin energy filled the room,” said Ms. Morales. “Everything was well organized from start to finish. I hope many children benefit from what we did. It was one of my favorite nights ever.”

“Tribeca Events helped us put together a wonderfully successful event,” added Elba Montalvo, Executive Director of CHCF. “They are a great team to work with and we look forward to planning next year's gala."

Ms. DiPeri co-founded Tribeca Events with her husband Michael, after successfully launching Yipeee, Inc., a hospitality staffing and event management firm over a decade ago. The company has long-standing relationships with New York City’s top restaurants, venues, suppliers, corporate sponsors and talent.

“We felt the time was right to move into a new direction in the event management space,” added Ms. Diperi. “Tribeca Events serves as both a strategic and tactical partner for its clients, as opposed to a functional resource. This way of operating better enables us to deliver creative solutions based on client objectives that are on theme, on time and on budget.”

In addition to CHCF, the company’s roster of clients include Bon Appétit, City Harvest, Cole Haan, Coach, Cantor Fitzgerald, ESPN, New York Magazine, Road Runner Records, Share Our Strength and Town & Country Magazine.
