InStadium announced today that Peter Schweitzer, the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of J. Walter Thompson (JWT), joined the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective February 6, 2006.
During Mr. Schweitzer’s three-decade career with JWT, he held a number of senior positions, including President and Chief Executive, and most recently Chairman of the company. Over the course of his leadership, JWT emerged as a world-wide leader in creative-driven, total communications, advertising, and marketing solutions, and the company posted record new business gains worldwide. When Mr. Schweitzer took the title of Chairman Emeritus of JWT in 2005, the company employed over 8,500 people around the world, and is currently ranked within the top ten agencies in 70 of the world’s major markets.
