Vendavo Adds to Management Team, Expands Business Consulting Group and Launches New Vertical Markets Initiative

Company Appoints John Hanson, Vice President of Business Consulting and Names Sean Murphy, Vice President of Strategic Market Initiatives

Vendavo, the leading provider of price management software, today announced that John Hanson has joined the company as vice president of Business Consulting. With more than 16 years of management consulting experience at Mercer Management Consulting, a premier corporate strategy firm, Mr. Hanson will expand the organization to help Vendavo’s enterprise customers drive maximum value from their solutions. He will report directly to Al Crites, chief executive officer.

The company also announced that Sean Murphy, who launched the Business Consulting group more than three years ago and served as vice president of the group, was named vice president of Strategic Market Initiatives. This new organization is dedicated to the pursuit of vertical markets outside the company’s current leadership in chemicals, high tech and industrial manufacturing.

While a partner at Mercer Management Consulting, Mr. Hanson was responsible for the Communications and Information Group, and served as head of the firm’s 300 person Boston office. He earned his Artium Baccalaureatus (A.B.) in English and American Literature from Harvard University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Georgetown University.

Mr. Murphy has spent more than 15 years in enterprise marketing, product management, business development, strategic planning and price management. Prior to joining Vendavo in 2001, he served as vice president of product strategy at PeopleSoft and presided over the creation and launch of a new growth business, in addition to his leadership role for the firm’s flagship product. He also served as vice president for marketing and products at Ask Jeeves, where he built the company's business-to-business marketing and product management organization from the ground up. Mr. Murphy earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Science degrees in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
