Newport, Rhode Island (PRWEB) March 27, 2006
For the third consecutive year, the Legendary Inns of Newport has been honored as Rhode Island’s top AAA Four Diamond lodging group. Both Cliffside Inn and Abigail Stoneman Inn have again been given AAA’s prestigious Four Diamond Award.
While just over three percent of the 32,000 AAA rated properties in America receive the coveted Four Diamond Award, the Legendary Inns of Newport now owns and operates one-quarter of all the Four Diamond lodging properties in the state of Rhode Island.
Only eight hotels, inns, or bed and breakfasts have been honored with Four Diamonds in Rhode Island for 2006. Three restaurants also received Four Diamond Awards at the annual AAA ceremony, held at L’Epicureo restaurant at the Hotel Providence.
“AAA Four Diamond Award winners know the language of customer satisfaction as they consistently deliver premier expectations, complete with superior personal service, first-class amenities, and impressive surroundings,” said Mark Shaw, AAA Southern New England President and CEO.
“It’s gratifying to receive this kind of acclaim and recognition for our unique style of luxury, warm hospitality, and personal service," said Winthrop Baker, Group President of the Legendary Inns of Newport. “Our guests have come to expect extraordinary experiences from us and our unprecedented Four Diamond group awards make it clear AAA sees that we consistently deliver on those guest expectations.”
Abigail Stoneman Inn became the first luxury Inn awarded the Four Diamond rating in Rhode Island in 2003, and was followed shortly thereafter that year by Cliffside Inn. Named to the "Great Tea Rooms of America," the inns also feature a unique array of personal service and luxury amenities including in-room spa services, pillow menu, one-of-a-kind antiques, exotic bathing salons with whirlpools and steam baths, and Beatrice Turner art collection.
In addition to Abigail Stoneman Inn and Cliffside Inn, this year’s Four Diamond lodging properties include: The Hotel Providence, The Westin Providence, Point Pleasant Inn & Resort, Historic Jacob Hill Inn, The Chanler at Cliff Walk, and Hydrangea House Inn. The restaurants include Mediterraneo, L’Epicureo, and Spiced Pear Restaurant.
