Steroid Testing Access Available To General Public

Amateur sports players, students and parents can now order steroid tests.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 29, 2006 -- Once restricted for use only be professional athletes, anabolic steroid testing will now be made available to the general public. MMS Quick Results of Las Vegas announced today that it has launched a national public service for steroid testing.

Anabolic-androgenic steroids are man-made drugs that mimic body reactions similar to male sex hormones. “Anabolic” refers to muscle-building, and “androgenic” refers to increased masculine characteristics. “Steroids,” in general terms, refers to the class of drugs. These drugs are available legally only by prescription to treat conditions that occur when the body produces abnormally low amounts of testosterone, such as delayed puberty and some types of impotence. However, they are also prescribed to treat body wasting in patients with AIDS and other diseases that result in the loss of lean muscle mass. Recently steroids have become known through the media because of professional athletes who use steroids for performance enhancement in sports. Abuse of anabolic steroids, however, can lead to serious health problems, some of which are irreversible.

“We want to make it clear that our tests are not for common prescription steroids such as topical creams to treat rashes and other immune enhancement remedies," says Robert Greene, Project Development Manager for SteroidTesting USA. “These (creams) are cortisteroids. Corticosteroids, reduces inflammation and increases immune response”

The costs of the tests is approximately $179.00 and requires samples of urine to be mailed to the labs with results in approximately 3 to 4 weeks. A key factor is that the report is given with instructions to see a physician for proper interpretation. Clients can either order online (www.steroidtestingusa.com) or by telephone.

“Steroids present in a persons urine could signal a serious medical condition the reason why we are not providing interpretation measures. MMS Quick Results will rely upon and strongly urge individuals to consult with their physicians if any positive measures are shown in their results," says Greene. Clients also must sign a statement confirming that they are above the age of 18 years and their own urine is being tested.

SteroidTesting USA is a subsidiary of MMS Quick Results (Las Vegas, NV) which oversees drug testing, screening products and services across the United States.
