Silicon Valley Startup Introduces New HDMI Products Targeted for 1080p Applications

Radiient Technologies, a Silicon Valley based startup company, has launched its new line of HDMI switching and signal distribution products.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) March 30, 2006 -– Radiient Technologies, a Silicon Valley based startup company, has launched its new line of HDMI switching and signal distribution products. The product line incorporates advanced design and user interface features, and also demonstrates the company’s philosophy of bringing a unique approach for ease-of-use to the living room.

The first HDMI product from the company is called the Radiient Select-4 HDMI Switch. The product is a four input one output HDMI switch, packaged in a one-half-width one-rackmount high design. The Select-4 features full HDMI and HDCP compatibility, while offering 1080p input/output resolution capability. The Select-4 also offers full HDMI performance up to the 165MHz HDMI specification limit. In addition, the product is also capable of functioning as a true HDMI signal repeater, delivering a total transmission distance of up to 100 feet (30 meters).

The Radiient Select-4 HDMI Switch was concepted and designed by Jano Banks, the co-founder of Radiient Technologies. Mr. Banks is also the co-inventor of the HDMI standard. HDMI is the new High Definition Multimedia Interface technology, seen in many new products now being brought to market by all major consumer electronics companies.

Mr. Banks stated “Our goal was to design a true “best-in-class” HDMI switching product, based upon the virtues of delivering full HDMI specification performance, coupled with a unique, new industrial design seen for the first time in this class of products. The Radiient Select-4 delivers these qualities, making it the ideal switching hub for HDMI applications in both home and commercial installations.”

The Radiient Select-4 will be available for shipment on May 15, 2006. The suggested retail price will be $399. Special pricing is available for both distributors and authorized resellers of Radiient’s products. Additional products in the Radiient HDMI product line will be introduced in the coming months.

In addition to the new HDMI switch and signal distribution line, Radiient is designing a number of other new home entertainment products. These currently unannounced products are scheduled to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2007. The company is composed of a team of industry veterans from Apple Computer, Cisco Systems, Shutterfly, Silicon Image, DVDO Inc., AlphaSmart, and other Silicon Valley companies. The team includes acknowledged industry experts in software, hardware, industrial, and product design. Overall, Radiient team members have authored more than 30 granted U.S. Patents in the fields of consumer electronics, personal computers, and PDAs.
