UCLA Extension Offers Accelerated Certified Financial Planner™ Program
UCLA Extension addresses the need for certified financial planners with two programs preparing participants to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 28, 2006 -- Demand for skilled personal financial planners is growing. UCLA Extension, a worldwide leader in continuing education, is addressing the need for certified financial planners with two programs preparing participants to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.
In addition to a nine-course sequence leading to a Professional Designation in Personal Financial Planning, UCLA Extension also offers an accelerated five course program leading to a Professional Designation in Personal Financial Planning. This CFP® Board-registered program is restricted to individuals with at least four years’ experience in the financial industry.
The curriculum is taught over a five-month period and comprises five individual courses covering the major disciplines of financial planning: Financial Planning Process and Insurance, Investment Planning, Income Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, and Estate Planning. The individual courses emphasize a client-centered methodology and include case studies, assignments, application projects and group study. The curriculum, taught by professionals who are proven leaders in their fields as well as experienced instructors, is designed so that each of the five courses builds on the previous one and provides a firm foundation in comprehensive financial planning, as well as intensive preparation for the CFP® Certification Examination.
The accelerated, five-course program costs $4,400, which includes enrollment in all five courses, some course materials and application/certificate fee. The approximate total cost for textbooks is $750.
