Auction Infomercial helps sellers add the communicating power of TV and radio to an auction listing. Provides buyers with next generation TV-like shopping experience.

Auction Mercial (http://www.auctionmercial.com) today announced a website that lets eBay Sellers quickly and easily add “Internet Infomercials” to auction listings. Auction Mercial automates the creation of Infomercials by transforming auction pictures and text descriptions or voice recordings into an engaging TV-like experience.

“eBay sellers can transform existing auction content into an Auction Infomercial in a few minutes,” according to Michael Behnke, Auction Mercial President and CEO. “We help sellers add the communicating power of TV and radio to an auction listing.”

Sellers can “Custom Create” an Auction Mercial by specifying the pictures and text to include in a “Mercial”, or “Quick Create”. With Quick Create, a seller enters an eBay Item number and Auction Mercial quickly gets the pictures and text description for the item. Sellers then customize their Mercial, adding and deleting pictures, modifying the text description, and adding or recording a voice track. With all the Mercial details in place, in most cases the final video is ready in less than 15 seconds.

While manually making Auction Mercials is good for many sellers with few items to list or items with a high expected average sales price, Auction Mercial is testing a process to automatically add Auction Mercials to every listing for a seller.

“Converting a listing’s text description into a voice track with state-of-the-art synthetic voice is the key to the high volume sellers,” says Behnke. “Recording voice tracks for hundreds of items at one time is simply not cost- or time-effective. We automate the process to remove the time and labor costs.” Over 180,000 Auction Mercials with synthetic voice have been created automatically from eBay auctions to date.

According to Behnke, it’s a matter of evolution rather than revolution. The obstacle has been to lower the barrier for sellers. “There is little doubt that video and audio have a place in future e-commerce. The problem has been quality versus production costs. Our goals were to create a high-quality experience regardless of connect speed for the buyer and to make Auction Mercial easy to use, fast, automatic, and inexpensive for the seller.”
