Combat Flight Simulator Developers Join Forces

Two combat flight simulation studios have partnered to deliver two very different games using a common flight simulation engine technology.

Bolton, UK (PRWEB) March 31, 2006 -- Ace Simulations and Thunderworks today announced a joint venture to create two exciting combat flight simulation games. The first game, Air Ace, in production by Ace Simulations, is set during World War II and features an online-only MMO style hardcore dog-fighting experience. The second game, Jet Thunder, being created by Thunderworks, features the unique jet combat experience of the 1980’s Falklands conflict between Britain and Argentina.

The announced joint venture will allow for both companies to contribute to both games and bring exciting game play elements to each combat flight simulation game. “We’re excited to work together,” says Phil Carlisle, Air Ace Project Lead, “Because our skill sets complement each other. The Jet Thunder team has some fantastic artists, but is a little light on programmers, whereas our team has some incredibly experienced programmers, but lacked the skilled artists required to finish the game to our high standards.”

“While Air Ace and Jet Thunder are very different products in their aims and goals, they can share a common core flightsim technology,” said Dante De Patta, Jet Thunder Project Lead. “Our project will continue to be developed as a realistic, in-depth simulation, focusing on dynamic campaigns and mission structures, while Air Ace will focus more on the air combat experience in a persistent world.”

The new partnership will see many exciting improvements and faster development for both projects as both will feature a shared technology codebase, based on an extensively updated and modified version of the Torque Shader Engine by GarageGames.
