Online Videos Feature the Humorous Side of Technology

New website shows free videos about the humorous side of working and living with technology.

Hudson, Ohio (PRWEB) March 30, 2006 -- Wedge Productions today announces its new website, www.LeadingWedge.com. The website offers short humorous videos that illustrate the hilarious results of working and living in the information age. The videos will be presented free to the end consumer—that is, anyone who lives and works with technology today.

“Video Podcasting is a relatively new phenomenon,” said Bob Coppedge, Wedge co-founder and CEO. “But there’s already a tremendous demand for content developed for the medium.” Eight initial videos are available on the site to start with. Wedge Productions, founders of the website, plans to add an additional video each week. “We plan to develop more features for the site—we expect it to become the go-to source for comedy about today’s technological world.”

The videos will feature a variety of topics and products. “In some cases, we’ll be introducing products, both real and fictional, in a humorous setting,” said Mr. Coppedge. “In others, we’ll show familiar business situations in a hilarious way.”

Consumers of comedy can view or download Wedge videos by various methods. They can simply go to the web page and view them online, or they can subscribe via RSS (Real Simple Syndication) and automatically receive new videos when available. “The cool part is that interested viewers can subscribe to Wedge using new devices, like their Video iPods. And yes, we’re available through the popular sites such as iTunes and Google Video.”

In addition, Leading Wedge will feature an audio podcast by Mr. Coppedge, entitled “The Ranting Wedge.” This podcast, updated several times a week, features a unique commentary about technology and today’s society. It is available at www.LeadingWedge.com/therantingwedge.

Revenues will be generated through advertising and by sponsorships for both the site and the videos.

“We’re driving a wedge between humor and technology,” said Mr. Coppedge. “We recognize that there’s a growing demand for content delivered across the Internet and other venues. This has created a whole new avenue for marketing products through streaming video. And because most of the material available is either rehashed television shows or limited content from isolated providers, we are excited to be an early innovator in this new medium.”

Viewers are able to review/access new material each week —Wedge has completed filming on their first sixteen videos, and has no plans of slowing down.
