Scholarship Encourages Creative Arts in High-School Seniors

PanCom International (PanCom), the leading full-service advertising agency specializing in Asian-American consumers in the United States, today announced the Young M. Kim Scholarship. To commemorate its 25th year anniversary this year, the advertising agency based in Los Angeles, announced it has established five-$2,000 scholarships for graduating Southern California high-school seniors planning to pursue a career in the creative arts. The five scholarships, named after the agency’s founder and CEO, Young M. Kim, will be awarded in June to encourage Asian American students to consider a creative arts career, not often a typical choice for the demographic.

“PanCom is proud to support young Asian Americans fulfill their university and career pursuit,” said Young M. Kim, chairman and chief executive officer, PanCom International. “We understand the rising costs of attending a college or university and know that these students are our future leaders. We are happy to do what we can to help students realize their dreams.”

The five scholarships will be distributed to qualified high-school seniors based on financial need, academic excellence, extracurricular activities, original essay and letter of recommendation. The executive officers of PanCom will review all applications and choose the scholarship winners.

Scholarship applications are available to download at Scholarship applications are due in full by Friday, May 19, 2006. Scholarship winners will be notified by Monday, June 19, 2006 and will be invited to an awards reception at PanCom to accept their awards.

Following this inaugural year of the Young M. Kim Scholarship, PanCom International will establish a scholarship fund to enable the continued distribution of the five scholarships every year.
