Comparison shopping site Pricefish.com has added the ability for shoppers to receive product updates with price comparisons via an RSS feed from its website. This new RSS feature joins the Company’s unique FishClips audio enhanced listings as another way it seeks to more fully engage shoppers and enhance the overall shopping experience at Pricefish.com.

RSS feeds can make it simple for shoppers to keep a close watch on products that they are considering to buy. When the price from a given merchant meets the shoppers target price they can just click and buy it

Online shoppers now have another useful tool to help them keep track of the latest prices on items they wish to buy. Pricefish.com has just added the capability to publish product listings via an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. This free feature enables a shopper to select product listings from Pricefish.com that they wish to have regularly updated and delivered via an RSS reader or RSS equipped web browser.

“RSS feeds can make it simple for shoppers to keep a close watch on products that they are considering to buy. When the price from a given merchant meets the shoppers target price they can just click and buy it,” said Mark Dresner, President of Pricefish, Inc. “We believe that timely access to product price changes is a useful tool for shoppers and have, in the past, provided these notifications by email. However, in these days of overflowing email inboxes we felt that our shoppers would appreciate an alternate option to email notifications. RSS is just another example of our goal to really engage shoppers and make the overall shopping experience simpler and more satisfying,” continued Dresner.

One of the main appeals to RSS is that it is a subscription-only model and therefore is one hundred percent spam free. Pricefish.com’s offering allows a shopper to monitor as many RSS-enabled product listings as they wish. Each product is treated as a unique channel within their RSS reader and displays all of the merchants selling a particular product along with their corresponding prices. When a shopper finds a merchant/price combination that they like they can make the purchase by just clicking from within their RSS reader to go to the merchant website.

“We believe that the new features recently introduced to Pricefish.com are truly incredible. Several weeks ago we announced our FishClips MP3 enhanced product listings. FishClips enhanced listings assist merchants to differentiate their listings and provide more useful and interesting information to shoppers. Today, we announce RSS capability to enable shoppers to keep track of products they may wish to purchase in the future. In the near future we hope to offer a number of additional RSS channels including, ‘new products’, ‘gift ideas’ and other original content, that shoppers may subscribe to. Our goal is to continue to drive innovations that help to make Pricefish.com the most useful comparison shopping tool available,” concluded Mark Dresner.
