Dr. John “Jack” Perez and Lisa Spoden PhD. bring hospital and medical lobbying expertise to Language Access Network's board.
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) March 31, 2006 -- The Language Access Network, a pioneer in video language interpretation services, announced today the addition of two new board members; Dr. John “Jack” Perez and Lisa Spoden PhD.
Lisa Spoden PhD. is a senior partner and executive vice president of Strategic Health Care, Lisa oversees the company’s Association Management, Federal Grants, and Managed Care Contracting practice areas, providing strategic guidance, program development, and executive management expertise that help clients deliver high-quality clinical care.
As head of the Association Management group, Lisa engages the services of a team of 20-plus Strategic Health Care professionals who provide staff support for a number of state associations. Lisa herself serves as the executive director of three of these associations. Working at the directives of the associations’ boards, Lisa has played a major role in planning and sustaining these organizations’ growth—one of which now numbers over 130 members—crafting and implementing their marketing plans, educating their members on issues of importance such as billing and reimbursement, and guiding and representing their interests and positions before state agencies, legislatures, and regulatory bodies. Her leadership of the Managed Care Contracting and Grants Development arenas places her at the helm of Strategic Health Care’s work on behalf of coalitions of providers.
To each of these practice areas, Lisa brings the skills and expertise of a twenty-plus year career in hospital and group practice management. In addition, she has served on the boards of many health-care organizations, including the National Hospice Organization’s Managed Care Committee (as chairperson), Journey’s End, and End-of-Life and Medicare Benefit Implementation Task Force. She has also been a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Who’s Who Registry of Executives and Professionals.
Lisa has a B.A. degree in business administration from the College of St. Benedict, an M.S. in health services administration from Cardinal Stritch University, and a Ph.D. in health services administration from Columbus University.
Dr. John F. Perez was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from Holy Spirit High School in Atlantic City. He received his A.B. degree in Arts and Science from Seton Hall University, where he attended on an academic scholarship. He continued his Masters work in Chemistry at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Mr. Perez spent several years doing industrial and clinical chemical research for his Masters. In 1966, he received his Medical Degree from the Kansas City University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Perez completed his surgical and urologic training at Doctors Hospital of Columbus, Ohio. He is certified in both general surgery and urology. During his career in Columbus, he held clinical professorships at both Ohio University and The Ohio State University.
Dr. Perez has held many local and national professional positions and has received numerous awards. He currently serves on the Board of Managers and with various committees within American Kidney Stone Management, a leading nationwide company delivering lithotripsy and other medical services to more than 800 urologists in 15 plus states.
