SAGE Scholars Launches New College Search Website – MyFourYears.com
SAGE Scholars has announced the launch of a college search website - MyFourYears.com - that is designed to allow students to see what colleges and universities are interested in them.
(PRWEB) April 4, 2006 -- SAGE Scholars, the company behind the private college discount plan, the Tuition Rewards™ Program, announced Monday that it has launched a new college search website called MyFourYears.com. “MyFourYears.com is the next generation of college search websites” stated SAGE’s founder, Dr. James Johnston. “With MyFourYears.com students will not only be able to search for schools on a wide array of criteria, but they will also be able to see which colleges and universities are interested in them.” To that extent, MyFourYears.com is modeled after online dating sites more than existing college search sites; the difference is that MyFourYears.com is matching up students and schools instead of romance seekers.
MyFourYears.com is loaded with information the college bound will find useful. Students (and mom and dad) can find out virtually anything about a school, ranging from what majors are offered, to extracurricular activities, to the average SAT scores of a school’s current students. MyFourYears.com even has a Values Survey that is designed to help students figure out the not-so-obvious things that they want in a college or university.
The amount of information contained on MyFourYears.com is astounding. Not only can you learn about the type of campus (urban, small town, etc.) and programs that a school offers, but MyFourYears.com is also packed with information on the diversity of a school’s student body, cost and admissions considerations. Some of the other “bells and whistles” on MyFourYears.com are a database of scholarships, which is updated constantly, information on student loans and a calendar system that can help students keep track of due dates and deadlines.
What makes MyFourYears.com unique, however, is its “Who’s Interested in Me?” section. This tool will allow students to see which colleges and universities have done searches that yielded the student in the results, and read the student’s profile. Conversely, the colleges will be able to see when a student does a search and/or reads about the school. “I hope that students really get excited when they see that a college is interested in them” stated Dr. Johnston, who went on to say “I know the schools will be excited about this!”
The goal of MyFourYears.com is to bring together students and colleges. As the saying goes – “If you build it, they will come.” SAGE has built it and with the number of useful tools and features included on MyFourYears.com, students would do well to find it and use it. Colleges and Universities will certainly take note of MyFourYears.com, especially as the number of registered student users becomes significant.
