Record producer Mark Governor joins forces with yoga studio owner/film producer Tracee Stanley-Newell to create Yogi2Go.com, a new website offering professionally recorded yoga classes that students can download to their iPod, computer, MP3 player, or mobile phone.
“My job requires me to travel a lot. The first thing I would do is research the closest yoga studio to the hotel. My assistant would waste at least an hour calling around and researching on the internet to find a class that suited my needs and my schedule. I wanted a class that could travel with me, as it was most important to me to keep up my practice when working long days and under stress, but my schedule was too busy,” says Tracee Newell. Mark Governor agrees saying, “We created this website so that people can have a daily yoga practice when they are traveling, and for people who have a busy life and want to practice yoga, but find it difficult to fit it into their schedule.”
“Yogi2Go.com eliminates time spent trying to find a great yoga class in a foreign country, remote location or unfamiliar city. It's also great for people who don't have yoga available near them. And because you own the class once it's downloaded, it makes yoga affordable,” concurs Tracee Newell.
Many people think you have to be flexible already to start practicing yoga. The classes offered on Yogi2Go.com like “Yoga for Stiff Guys” and “Beginner’s Gentle Flow” make yoga accessible to everyone. The classes are professionally recorded in a Los Angeles recording studio. All the teachers are hand-selected for their dedication to the practice of yoga, teaching experience, and training hours.
Yogi2Go.com features specialized classes like Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Difficult Times, Yoga for Low Back Release, Shoulder Therapy, and Gentle Prenatal. And travelers will be pleased to discover there is an In-Flight Yoga suite, where all of the classes are designed to be done while waiting for your flight, during your layover, at the hotel, or within the confines of your airplane seat.
“It’s a marriage of cutting-edge technology and ancient wisdom,” says Governor. “Yogi2Go.com empowers people through audio to be able to practice yoga where and when they have the time, whereas with a video they are stuck in front of a TV or DVD player. Now they can do yoga anywhere. We created really high-quality recordings knowing that this is going to be a one on one experience, which is very different than listening to a recording of a teacher in a general class with 50 students. Yogi2Go.com keeps it intimate.”
“And this is only the beginning. We are really excited about how we plan to expand the site,” says Governor. “We are adding new classes, teachers, music and meditations every week. We offer music and recordings available exclusively on Yogi2Go.com that cannot be found anywhere else like Aeone’s “The Blessing”, and Kaia Van Zandt’s “Bhavana.”
Yogi2Go.com has been designed as a user-friendly site. The classes are all available as thirty second previews so that the listener can decide what they want to download.
Mark Governor has had a long and celebrated career as a recording producer, film composer and writer. He has written and produced music for many feature films and TV series, including Johnny Depp's directorial debut, "The Brave", which he scored with Iggy Pop. His passion for yoga and his desire to make yoga practices taught by great teachers available to all resulted in the creation of the Yogi2Go website with his teacher, Tracee Newell. Mark has also studied with Rod Stryker in the Pure Yoga teacher-training program. Mark travels extensively, and truly believes the world is his yoga studio.
Tracee Stanley-Newell shares a career as yoga studio owner and successful film producer. Living yoga for over ten years led her to become the co-founder of Divine Motion Yoga, which was voted the best yoga studio in Los Angeles by CitySearch.com in 2002 and 2004 before relocating the studio to the Mt. Shasta area in 2005 where she lives with her husband Everett Newell. She is currently producing the film “Bordertown” starring Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas. She leads yoga retreats, immersions and workshops nationally.
