Outdoor Odysseys Launches “Women on the Water” Sea Kayaking Tours in the Waters off the San Juan Islands

This summer, Outdoor Odysseys will offer a limited number of women-only sea kayaking trips off picturesque San Juan Island in Washington. Women can choose from two types of sea kayaking tours , both led by women guides–a three day camping tour or a luxurious three day bed & breakfast sea kayak tour. On both tours kayakers paddle through some of the best orca whale habitats in the continental U.S.
During the sea kayaking camping tour , women paddle along scenic coastlines watching for eagles to appear. While experiencing the adventure of camping on islands only accessible by boat, the paddlers also enjoy gourmet breakfasts, lunches, dinner, desserts, bottled wines and appetizers.
For those who like adventure by day and a comfortable bed at night, Outdoor Odysseys recommends the bed and breakfast kayaking tour. The B&B Kayaking/Walking Tour includes two nights at the States Inn – a country bed and breakfast on 62 acres. The first day begins with easy island exploration hikes, a picnic lunch at the famous Whale Watch Park and a wine tasting at San Juan Vineyards. The evening is capped off with fine dining. On the second and third days, women hit the water to paddle in marine mammal heaven – the waters off the San Juan Islands are considered a prime viewing area for over 90 resident killer whales.
Outdoor Odysseys offers its all-inclusive women-only adventure kayak trips from June through September. Price for the sea kayaking camping tour is $475 per person. The cost of the bed and breakfast kayaking tour is $749 per person.
