Museum of the Moving Image Presents "Voices Behind The Scene," An Entertainment Career Seminar in the Art of Voice-overs
Celebrities and entertainment industry moguls gather to bring to life JOAN BAKER’S new book Secrets of Voice-Over Success in a brilliant hands-on professional seminar complete with a networking cocktail party that’s certain to launch new careers. The hush-hush guest list includes industry executives in television, film, radio and advertising. And, all royalties from MS BAKER’S book are donated to The Alzheimer’s Association.
(PRWEB) April 1, 2006 -- Museum of the Moving Image will present an industry seminar “Voices Behind the Scenes: The Art of Voice-Over,” with an all-star panel discussion exploring the unsung but pervasive art of voice-over recording for film and television. Organized by Joan Baker, author of Secrets of Voice-Over Success, the event will be hosted by ALAN KALTER, the TALENTED SHOW ANNOUNCER ON LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. The discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception and book signing of Baker’s book: Secrets of Voice-Over Success: Top Voice-Over Actors Reveal How They Did It – showcases this evening’s top voice-over talent in the country. All inspired by Joan's father, who lost the gift of communication to Alzheimer's. Ms. Baker’s book sales and a set up donation table will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association for a cure. A panel of thirteen of the leading voice-over artists in the industry will participate, talking about their work, answering questions from the audience, and leading audience members in mock auditions. Event organizer and author Joan Baker is a widely known and very highly regarded voice-over talent and an award-winning stage actress who also teaches voice-over acting. Among her achievements, she was chosen to narrate the introduction film for President Clinton's Presidential Library and to voice a commercial TV campaign promoting the new Muhammad Ali Center. Additional clients include ABC News, NBC, Showtime, HBO, Nickelodeon, King World, Sesame Street, Sony Music, and American Express.
