Designer Barclay Butera Establishes First East Coast Showroom, Opens April 6th at NYC's D&D Building

West Coast-based, nationally-recognized furniture, interior and lifestyle designer Barclay Butera, ASID, is proud to open his first East Coast location in New York’s prominent Decoration & Design Building.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2006 -- West Coast-based, nationally-recognized furniture, interior and lifestyle designer Barclay Butera, ASID, is proud to open his first East Coast location in none other than New York’s prominent Decoration & Design Building. On April 6th Barclay will unveil the showroom to the media by appointment. That evening’s invitation-only event at the space welcoming Butera is hosted by noted society figures Andrea and John Stark, Ashley Stark, Somers White Farkas and Jonathan Farkas, and columnist R. Couri Hay. Also presenting the event is Stephen Kong, President and Group Publisher of Angeleno Magazine and the new Front Desk New York publication. The showroom marks Butera’s sixth overall and second one exclusively to-the-trade. For further April 6th information, please contact Julie Du Brow / 310-821-2463 or Amy Rosi / 212-953-5177.

The East Coast launch demonstrates the continued strategic growth of the designer’s corporation, which is defined by the retail side, Barclay Butera Inc. (BBI), and the wholesale entity Barclay Butera Home (BBH). This last fiscal year, BBI grew by 20% in gross revenues, and BBH, by an exceptional 40%. Butera’s CFO Haleh Fardi attributes this increase to three key factors: expanded national distribution of BBH, a strong investment in marketing opportunities, and the large percentage of repeat customers who believe in Butera and his staff’s “client for life” philosophy. In 2005, Butera not only opened BBH showrooms in his proven markets that exclusively carry his own line of upholstery and accessories, but he made a high priority of increasing and refining the 300+ showrooms and designers nationwide that are BBH dealers. “This planned growth that is funded by internally generated cash flow has served us well and has created the basis for further expansion in 2006,” says Fardi.

Behind it all is the creative and marketing drive of Barclay Butera himself, who consistently credits his staff for responding so readily and thoroughly to his fast pace and vision. Having started BBI 13 years ago with a small space in Newport Beach, CA, he is a design staple and respected lifestyle influence throughout the country. The BBH showroom at the Pacific Design Center celebrates its one-year anniversary during the current WestWeek, and the nearby retail showroom continues to draw customers from every walk of life looking to invest in the “better-best” aspect of living. The Park City, UT, showroom located in the heart of historic Main Street provides ‘sophisticated mountain’ living, and Butera has become an in-demand resource for high style corporate lounges during the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Additional events and investments have also proven inspiring and beneficial for the designer. Because of his love for old Hollywood, he has owned Frank Sinatra’s Palm Springs “Twin Palms” home, and now owns as his L.A. residence the former mid-century modern house of Desi Arnaz Jr. which overlooks the city. He also purchased an Airstream, redesigned the inside, loaned it during Sundance for a celebrity green room, and uses it as a creative playground for his ideas. He also enjoys purchasing homes in up-and-coming areas, redesigning, and selling them. And he participates in acclaimed magazine design showcases such as “Dining By Design” for DIFFA (Elle Décor), various House Beautiful homes, and the upcoming Hampton Design Showhouse for House & Garden.

Says Butera, “This is a great step for my company, as this new location will significantly increase the exposure of my lifestyle vision across both coasts. I’m proud to be in the two most prestigious design buildings in the U.S. -- the PDC and the D&D.” The showroom will open with Butera’s newest palette: the bright colors and patterns of vintage Palm Beach. As a lifetime student of fashion and design, he admires how the 1980s preppy style of his own high school years adopted the 1960s Palm Beach creations, as exemplified by Lilly Pulitzer. Everything about them is fun, vibrant and celebrates life. Living well and enjoying each other’s company defines the lifestyle Butera responds to and is inspired by – it is what the Barclay Butera brand stands for. www.barclaybutera.com, www.barclaybuterahome.com
