Chocolate Marathon - 24 Hours of Chocolate Madness in Keene, NH

2 chocolatiers make chocolates for 24 hours in the window of a chocolate shop. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Keene, NH (PRWEB) April 2, 2006 -- Unbridled Chocolates of Keene, NH is hosting a chocolate making marathon to benefit local charities. The event begins at 3pm on Friday, April 28 in the window at the Unbridled Chocolates store, 36 Central Square, Keene, NH. Guest Chocolatier Peter Jost, formerly with Jacques Torres Chocolates, New York, will join local Chocolatier Alan Crofut of Unbridled Chocolates in creating beautiful chocolates all day and night.

Chocolate lovers are encouraged to come and watch, and will be able to ask the chocolatiers questions about their techniques. The shop will be open during the entire event, offering refreshments, samples and door prizes. Alan and Peter promise to be entertaining, for at least the first 12 hours. The event closes at 3pm Saturday, April 29.

Many types of chocolates will be molded, filled, enrobed and dipped while people watch. Spectators may enter a contest to guess the total amount being made in the 24 hour period. At the end of the marathon, the chocolates will be weighed, packaged and brought to the Colonial Theater for sales during the “Jim Bailey is Judy Garland” performance. All proceeds from this event, including the chocolates, will benefit the Aids Services for the Monadnock Region (ASMR).

The two chocolate chefs are seeking Corporations and concerned individuals willing to sponsor one or both chocolatiers for the event. Sponsorship dollars will go the The Monadnock United Way and will be dispersed among many local charities. “Chocolate is a big draw for a large variety of people, we’re proud to be able to put on this event.” says Alan Crofut, “It’s a fun way to raise money and awareness for some of the less talked about organizations in our community.”

Unbridled Chocolates opened the store on Central Square earlier this year. They have been wholesaling chocolates for 2 years. Peter Jost, guest Chocolatier, is an accomplished pastry chef, and has trained with famous chocolatier Jacques Torres. Peter now has his own line of chocolates under the Pierre Chocolat name. The two chocolatiers are great friends and are anticipating an historical event that may recur each year.

For more information on sponsoring a chocolatier, please call Alan Crofut at (603) 876-9111 or visit the shop, 36 Central Square, Downtown Keene, NH.
