Culver’s Helps Sponsor Free College Textbooks

Freeload Press, Inc. announced that Culver's has joined a growing list of sponsors in their new initiative designed to reduce college costs. Through the support of corporate sponsorship like Culver's, students are now able to download college textbooks and course materials for FREE! This corporate support has already enabled students from across the country to download an estimated $500,000 in FREE materials, and Freeload Press, Inc. plans on providing over $1,000,000 of college textbooks and study aids in the up coming school year.

Praire Du Sac, WI (PRWEB) April 5, 2006 -- Culver’s Frozen Custard, one of the fastest growing food franchises in the U.S., announced today that it is participating as a sponsor in a program designed to reduce college costs. The company has signed on to be a sponsor of free college textbooks that will be distributed to 250,000 business students in the upcoming academic year.

Culver’s®, along with other businesses concerned about the high cost of college, is working with Freeload Press, a college textbook publisher that provides free e-book versions of textbooks and study aids to students across the U.S. Freeload Press specializes in recruiting businesses like Culver’s who want to reach college students with marketing messages while helping to reduce the cost of going to college.

Freeload Press textbooks are delivered as free e-books that students download. The Saint Paul-based textbook publisher places sponsors’ marketing messages in natural breaks within the textbooks and related study aids. Students then register at the publisher’s site to download the free e-book version of the textbook and related study aids. Inexpensive paperback versions are also available for students who prefer to study from print.

Many of Culver’s locations are located near, technical schools, colleges and universities. “Partnering with Freeload Press is another way we can assist students with their career goals, just like our VIP scholarship program and by providing management and entrepreneurial opportunities. It seems like a natural fit for all concerned,” stated Lea Culver, co-founder and Executive Director of the VIP Scholarship Fund. “Culver’s is interested in helping out college students. They understand that, given today’s cost of tuition and fees, many college students have trouble buying textbooks.” said Tom Doran, co-founder and CEO of Freeload Press.

“Culver’s is stepping forward to make textbooks accessible for students from all financial backgrounds. That won’t be lost on the students who use these textbooks. We see that as a win-win for all concerned.” Students will be able to link directly to Culver’s web site from Freeload Press textbooks beginning with spring term classes. The promotion will be featured in all Freeload Press textbooks and study aids in 2006. Culver’s restaurants are independently owned and operated in more than 315 locations in 15 states across the nation. The owner/operator concept has been a cornerstone of growth for Culver’s since the first location opened in Sauk City, Wis., on July 18, 1984.

Culver’s invests deeply in partnerships and programs, including its VIP college and technical school scholarship program and countless franchise-driven local efforts. Culver’s is the recipient of numerous industry and community awards, including the 2005 Nation’s Restaurant News Golden Chain Award and Wisconsin’s Ernst & Young® Entrepreneur of the Year award.
