Internet Broadcasting Continues Robust Traffic Growth with 25 Percent Increase in February

Year-over-year growth outpaces competitors, is fourth highest in company history.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 2, 2006 -- Internet Broadcasting, the nation’s first-ever national platform of TV station web sites, today announced a continuance of its robust traffic growth with a 25 percent year-over-year increase in unique visitors for February, 2006. The company’s comprehensive online local coverage of weather and news events, including localized coverage of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games during the period contributed to the fourth highest traffic month in the company’s 10-year history. Internet Broadcasting co-produces NBCOlympics.com plus 73 TV station web sites for America’s premier broadcasters: NBC, Cox Broadcasting, Hearst-Argyle, McGraw Hill Broadcasting, Post-Newsweek, Scripps Howard, and Capitol Broadcasting Company.

The 12.9 million visitors, as measured by Nielsen//NetRatings, made Internet Broadcasting the third largest news publisher in the nation and placed it ahead of notable news sites like USAToday.com, ABC News Digital, and CBS News Digital Network. Additionally, the robust traffic made Internet Broadcasting the 41st largest online brand overall as measured by Nielsen’s U.S. brand rankings for February.

“We are obviously pleased with our continued traffic growth as it shows the importance of local news to the millions of upscale consumers that visit our sites,” said Julie Burrows, Internet Broadcasting’s executive vice president. “Our consumers who typically visit during the day, while at work, show us they trust local news brands to keep them connected to their world during the day.”

The visitor total represents an aggregation of users across Internet Broadcasting’s national platform of 73 TV station web sites including WNBC.com (New York), NBC4.tv (Los Angeles), and TheBostonChannel.com.
