It's Friday afternoon March 31, 2006 around 5:30 p.m. a little more than 24 hours before the 2006 NCAA Final Four is to tip-off. The "Cinderella" story of this years tournament George Mason and Florida will meet in the 1st game played of the 2006 NCAA Final Four. The winner has the right to play UCLA wait..., UCLA hasn't played yet... Sorry LSU, just like I said, the winner will face-off against the Bruins Monday night for 2nd place. Wait..., the Championship game hasn't been played yet. That's right... UCLA is going to win it all. It's destiny in history for the Bruins.
UCLA is going to be part of college basketball history next season. A first in American sports. They are one of the 5 winningest college basketball programs of All-Time along with Kentucky, N. Carolina, Kansas, and Duke.The 5 best college basketball programs known as "The Phat 5" will be celebrating 500 years of combined play.

A Bruins Championship sets the stage for the 2006-07 season to see if "The Phat 5" can make it a "3Peat" for next year to go along with 20 straight Final Four appearances and, the 500 years of combined play celebration. There has never been a collection of 5 teams amateur or professional that has collectively celebrated that special number of 500. When the clock strikes midnight on Tuesday morning it will be the end of the 2005-06 season. All of college basketball and sports in general can get ready for the hype and hoopla of the 2006-07 season.
