Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 3, 2006
Jonathan Kraft, 26, and Carrie Roll, 24, both of Parker, are offering their auction winner the chance to be ‘with them’ on a crazy summer expedition. They will visit the tourist destinations around Washington, D.C. and New York City. From there, they will spend 3-4 days visiting the various sites of note in Amsterdam. Their final destination is a 10-day safari and trek up the largest free-standing volcano in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro.
“As far as we know, no other auction even remotely like this has ever existed at eBay, and no Kilimanjaro climber has ever opened up sponsorship of their entire expedition to the eBay community. We’re looking forward to promoting the heck out of any company, that meets our Reserve Price on the auction, all the way to 19,341 feet!” says Kraft.
They mention in a rather humorous posting on their web site that they have been together for more than 4 years, but that this will be their first time leaving North America together.
“We thought it would be fun to include others in this experience, so we started the web site. Jonathan thought he could offer a lot of value to any company advertising on Kilimanjaro2006.com, so we opened the auction. It’s been really fun to watch the bids going up!” says Roll.
Kraft and Roll say they will do whatever it takes to make sure the winner gets more value than is spent on the auction, so long as they do not have to permanently ink or otherwise alter their bodies (as some past winners of unusual eBay auctions have done).
In the picture-laden eBay auction, Kraft, who works in the field of Search Engine Optimization, mentions that he knows how to bring a “healthy amount of traffic to a web site,” and then, in proving that this is true, Kraft goes on to create what may be the longest eBay auction ever created.
The auction winner will receive:
Roll and Kraft clothed June 8 – July 2, in clothing that advertises the winning bidder,
Pictures and video of their entire travel, offered royalty free in digital format, for any future promotions the winner wishes to use them for,
Ongoing impression advertising for the auction winner via the posted pictures on the Kilimanjaro2006 site (at the conclusion of the expedition, Kraft and Roll will post all of the pictures, video, and their journals of the trip, on their Kilimanjaro2006 web site),
3 years worth of free web site links from Kilimanjaro2006.com, to a web site of the winner’s choosing,
A donation of 10% of the winning bid, donated in the winner’s name, to a charitable organization in Tanzania.
Regardless of how much they receive in bids, this will be an interesting auction to watch.
Their auction at eBay ends on Friday, April 7, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=9504090556 and you can check out their thoughts via their regular posts on their web site http://www.kilimanjaro2006.com
