Canton, MA (PRWEB) April 3, 2006 –
XMLAW announced today the release of its WorkSite Search Module, extending SharePoint Search to include WorkSite documents, folders, and workspaces. The module, tightly integrated with SharePoint and WorkSite, enables secure crawling and indexing of WorkSite content to increase the availability of critical information within SharePoint portals. Users are able search WorkSite content in SharePoint along with content from other systems and repositories.
In addition to indexing document contents, the Worksite Search Module can index any or all attributes stored in WorkSite for documents, folders and workspaces, enabling users to search based on attributes such as client, matter, and document type in addition to document contents.
“We’ve worked closely with Microsoft and several of our law firm customers to test performance, scalability, and accuracy. The results have been outstanding,” said Robert Saccone, President and CEO of XMLAW. “We’re excited about this product release. Adding high-performance search and retrieval to our SharePoint offerings greatly improves the visibility and reuse of content, while making the underlying systems that manage the content transparent to users.”
The Search Module includes the necessary components to extend SharePoint capabilities using standard SharePoint administrative and search management tools, making the creation and configuration of WorkSite content sources familiar to administrators.
WorkSite security information is collected as content is indexed and is then persisted in the index along with the content. The WorkSite Search Module automatically maps user accounts and groups in WorkSite to Active Directory users and groups used by SharePoint. Real-time security is maintained by inspecting WorkSite security changes at run time. The combination of persisted and real-time security ensures users only access appropriate documents without any degradation of performance.
When compared to other enterprise search options, XMLAW’s WorkSite Search Module provides deeper SharePoint integration, greater usability, and ensures security while maintaining high performance. It is a cost-effective solution that minimizes both up-front and ongoing maintenance costs. The Module leverages a firm’s existing investments in SharePoint and WorkSite, requires no significant data preparation or re-location, does not require programming or the use of external specialists, and scales as needed. The WorkSite Search Module optionally includes a customized version Mondosoft’s Ontolica enhanced search customization product for SharePoint. Ontolica supports advanced features such as Boolean and wildcard search, customizable search and results layouts, and document hit highlighting. The XMLAW customized version supports integration with XMLAW’s Worksite Module for document check-in/check-out and other functionality directly from search results and WorkSite attribute lookups in the advanced search interface.
