American Sentinel University Takes Part in DETC Conference, Honors Outstanding Graduates

American Sentinel University President Mary Adams chairs committee at Distance Education and Training Council’s annual conference taking place in Seattle April 8—11.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) April 5, 2006 -- American Sentinel University, an accredited university specializing in degrees concentrated in high growth sectors, will participate in the annual conference of the Distance Education and Training Council.

“Active participation in the Distance Education and Training Council has made American Sentinel University a better institution and yielded significant benefit for our students,” said Mary Adams, President of American Sentinel University and Chair of DETC’s research and education standards committee.

At the conference, DETC will honor two outstanding American Sentinel graduates: Anne-Marie Broodryk, now a Global Industry Technical Consultant with Rockwell Automation, and Victoria Brown, a Senior Consultant with SAP.

In addition to serving the conventional higher education markets, the university focuses on the unique human capital needs of fast growth organizations in health care, bio-informatics, nanotechnology, and digital entertainment. In the digital entertainment sector, the university has a partnership with Seattle-based Digipen Institute of Technology. Says Digipen Senior VP of Operations Raymond Yan, “Given the ever increasing sophistication of today’s video games, professionals in this industry must find ways to become knowledgeable about recent developments techniques without taking extended leaves of absence. Online education is proving to be the ideal solution.”

American Sentinel University is accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education-recognized Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council. DETC, the premier global accrediting association for distance learning institutions, is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

American Sentinel University (www.AmericanSentinel.edu), founded as a Vanderbilt University Technology Company, is an accredited institution that delivers to its students and their employers the competitive advantages of unique online education programs focused on the needs of fast growth sectors.
