Marketing executive Don Mecke brings his business development expertise to consulting services as he joins Atlanta-based consulting firm Barger, Cowart & Kenney.

Mr. Mecke served as Executive Vice President of Standard Furniture, leading all Sales and Marketing efforts from 1989 to 2004, and played a strategic role in Standard’s rise to the top echelon of U.S. furniture importers. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Home Furnishing International Association (HFIA), was President of the International Furniture Suppliers Association (IFSA), on the Board of the World Market Center, and a board member for the San Francisco Furniture Mart. In 2005, Mr. Mecke was named “Man of the Year” by IFSA and was the recipient of Standard’s W.M. Hodgson Award of Excellent, the highest honor the company gives. In 2004, Furniture Today magazine recognized Mr. Mecke as one of the top fifteen marketing executives in the furniture industry.
