Free Extention for Atrixware Test Pro Developer 8 Enables Creation of eLearning Presentations

Test Pro Developer 8 is used primarily to create exams and tests, and then you 'wrap' them with presentations created by another application (usually PowerPoint or Flash) to create your final eLearning product. Using this new (free) extention, you can use Test Pro Developer to create your presentations, and even integrate quiz questions into the presentations (not easily done using PowerPoint or Flash). Free to all existing users of Test Pro Developer 8.

Blackwood, NJ (PRWEB) April 6, 2006 -- Atrixware, a leading provider of software for eLearning creation and online testing since 1997, has released a free extention to its flagship product - Test Pro Developer 8, that enables users of the product to create eLearning presentations.

For the most part, Atrixware Test Pro Developer 8 is used to create exams and quizzes of varying formats. The high-end version ('Enterprise Edition') of the product is used across the globe by companies to create practice exam software for Windows PCs. If you have ever downloaded a practice exam package from the Internet, or, have installed one from a CD-Rom in the back of a book, you may have experienced using a practice exam created with Atrixware Test Pro Developer.

However, many companies using Atrixware Test Pro Developer 'wrap' other learning materials into their package, since the product enables eLearning authors to piracy-protect all of their materials into a single distribution. According to surveys conducted by Atrixware, most companies use Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations (and some use Macromedia Flash), and they frequently include one or more presentations with their eLearning package they create with Atrixware Test Pro Developer. However, many of the companies in the survey stated that they wanted to include quiz questions in their presentations, something that is not easily done using the tools mentioned.

The new (free) extention to Atrixware Test Pro Developer 8, called the "Advanced Learning Presentation Toolkit", integrates right into Atrixware Test Pro Developer 8. It includes two lightweight applications (an image maker program to create images, and an audio recording program to create narrations for the slides), two presentation templates, and over 30 slide and question templates for use in the presentations. Slides can include text and graphics (positioned top/bottom, or left/right), and can include an audio narration that either plays automatically, or is controlled by the student. Question slides can be inserted throughout the presentation, and authors can determine what happens when students answer right or wrong. For example, authors can force the student to remain on the question until they answer it correctly, or even send them to another question or slide. Another convenient feature is the ability for the student to save where they left off, and then go back at a later time and continue. It is obvious that the presentations this extention offers are specifically targeted towards eLearning courseware, and not group presentations (as PowerPoint is). For users familiar with using Atrixware Test Pro Developer 8 to create their exams and tests, creating these new ‘advanced learning presentations’ will seem familiar.
